Velkommen til Balder Lodge!

The first meeting of Balder lodge #68 was held in Ventura, CA Sat. October 9, 1954. Ivar Aasen Lodge #45 of Santa Barbara was our sponsor. An Initiation of 42 candidates was conducted by 6th District Secretary Leo Schiager. There are eighty-five members currently.

Meetings

Balder lodge meets monthly on the third Friday at Country Estates Mobile Home Park, 10685 Blackburn Rd., Ventura, CA 93004. The Board Meeting is held at 5:30 p.m. followed by the lodge meeting. Often it is a potluck dinner, other times a planned dinner for a small fee. A short members meeting is held shortly after the dinner followed by a varied program. Some programs are music and fun, others are geared toward leaning about our heritage.

SPECIAL EVENTS - FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The Lodge participates in the Annual Scandinavian Festival at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. each year. That is scheduled Apr. 21-22, 2001. The lodge participates in District Six Krettstevne, a week-end getaway for members to meet and mingle with other lodge members from the district. For the past several years it has been held at Buellton, CA. It is scheduled this year in Oct. Balder lodge supports fellow members in any way that they can and have fun doing it.
